In accordance with the California Public Records Act (California Government Code § 7921.000 et.seq.), public records are open for inspection at all times during regular office hours. Any person may request to inspect and/or copy a public record, excluding records exempt from disclosure by law. In most instances, copies may be provided upon request, unless additional time is required for research and records retrieval. Within ten (10) days from the date the request is received, the City will determine whether the request, in whole or in part, seeks copies of disclosable public records in the City’s possession and notify the requester of such determination. In unusual circumstances, the 10-day time limit may be extended up to an additional fourteen (14) days by written notice to the requester, setting forth the reason for the time extension. Hard copies of public records are available for fees as contained in the City’s current fee resolution.
The City of San Clemente strives to provide prompt and efficient access to public records. For your convenience, a minimum of two years of recent City meeting agendas, agenda packets, and minutes are available online at www.san-clemente.org/records. If you have questions, please contact Jason Chase, Records Management Coordinator, at 949-361-8345.
