Opportunities
The City of San Clemente offers many volunteer opportunities in its municipal departments. Volunteers do a variety of jobs, both traditional and non-traditional. Most positions are developed to meet a department’s need. Sometimes, though, a potential volunteer has an interest in doing a different job and the departments make every effort to accept the volunteer’s offer.

Qualifications
Skills and other qualifications are consistent with the position and are included in the formal job description. Experience is often not necessary and staff will train the volunteer.

Location
Positions exist at City Hall, Community Development, Community Center, and other locations. Some projects may be done off-site or at home.

Time Commitment
Assignments are as flexible as possible. Every effort is made to accommodate the volunteer’s schedule

Requirements
Volunteers complete an application and are interviewed to determine their interests. Some sensitive positions may require a background check. Each volunteer attends an orientation and is given on-the-job training. Volunteers are asked to report any changes in their physical condition that might affect their ability to safely do their jobs.
