Playa Del Norte

On May 19th, the Planning Commission voted 6-1 to recommend approval of the Alternative Site Plan and Architectural Features with the Beach Trail Café to the City Council. City staff will be available to offer tours of the Story Poles in North Beach on Tuesday Mornings from 8:30 am to 9:30am and Tuesday Afternoons 4:30 pm to 5:30pm. Meet in the lobby of the Ole Hanson Beach Club. Staff will conduct multiple tours during that time period. For individual tours at different times, contact Associate Planner Sean Nicholas at (949) 361-6189 or by email at Nicholas@san-clemente.org to set an appointment. Additionally, the end of the forty-five (45) day review period for the Draft Environmental Impact Report ends on May 22nd. All comments and questions must be submitted in writing (letter or email) to Sean Nicholas (Nicholas@san-clemente.org) by that date. The City Council Public Hearing for the Playa del Norte Project will take place on Monday July 19, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the City Council Chambers at 100 Avenida Presidio.

Target
|
On May 19, 2010, the City Council unanimously approved a Target retail store to be located at the northwest corner of Avenida La Pata and Avenida Vista Hermosa. The 142,206 square foot store will be located directly across the street from the future La Pata Vista Hermosa Sports Park. The Target Corporation is anticipating Winter 2011 grand opening date. Renderings and view simulations for the approved design are provided below.

San Clemente Senior Apartment Development
|
This project was approved for the construction of an 78-unit senior apartment housing development located at 2350 South El Camino Real. The City Council reviewed and approved the proposed senior housing development on March 17, 2009. The developer is currently applying for tax credits to construct the development. Wireless Master Plan for City Owned Properties

On December 16, 2008, the City Council approved a Wireless Telecommunications Master Plan to guide the development of future wireless facilities on City owned sites. The intent of this Master Plan is to streamline the review process by providing design criteria for locating wireless facilities on City property and facilitating the future growth of wireless telecommunications networks in the City of San Clemente. Municipal Golf Course Driving Range Fencing
|
The City of San Clemente is proposing to replace and increase the height of the existing netting surrounding the golf course driving range, located at 150 East Avenida Magdalena, in order to improve the safety of the golf course patrons. The proposed fence height is proposed to be increased at the rear of the range from 30 feet (existing height) to 60 feet. The image to the left depicts in red the limits of the proposed netting at the 60-foot height and in blue the area that will remain at the existing 30-foot height. Story poles demonstrating the height of the proposed 60-foot netting shall be erected on the site prior to the Planning Commission hearing.
A public hearing will be held by the Planning Commission to consider this project on December 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers, 100 Avenida Presidio, San Clemente, California. A copy of the staff report will be available on the City website on November 26, 2008. All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and provide written and/or communica¬tion to the Planning Commission. This application is on file at the City of San Clemente Community Development Department, 910 Calle Negocio, and is available for public inspection and comment by contacting the Community Development Department at (949) 361-6100

|
The Coastal Pedestrian Trail will span from North Beach to Calafia. Trail
Surface will be Decomposed Granite with organic stabilizer. Native plantings
with drought tolerant accents will line the path.

At a Joint City Council/Parks and Recreation Commission meeting on December 15, 2004, the City Council considered a development master plan of Planning Areas B through D of the Forster Ranch Specific Plan. The Council approved the conceptual community park plan for Planning Area B and directed staff to prepare a plan for disposition of the non-park site (Planning Area D). More »
