How much does it cost to park at the Beach?
All parking is $1.50 per hour for those hours designated on the back of the meters. Annual parking permits are available for $50 for San Clemente residents and $100 for non-residents.

Where do I park and when do you charge?
The City has 6 primary parking areas near the beach:
  • Calafia (On street near State Park Entrance), meters: 9am – 6pm
  • Camino Capistrano (Poche), meters: 9am – 6pm
  • North Beach, Lot and meters: 9am-6pm
  • Linda Lane, meters: 10am-5pm
  • Pier Bowl, Lots 10am-5pm: meters 10am-5pm
  • T-Street, meters 9am-7pm

Where are the Parking Lots?
The best way to locate the beach lots is our Beach Maps links by clicking here.

How does the Pier Bowl Master parking meter work?
The Pier Bowl and North Beach each have parking lots with numbered parking spaces. (The Pier Bowl parking is free before 10am and after 5pm.). Note your parking space number and go to one of the two automated Pay Machines. The machine accepts bills up to $10. Carefully read the instructions to make sure you pay only for the ammount of time you plan to be parked in the space. Time starts from when you pay the machine.

Pier Bowl Parking Machines now take Credit Cards

Can I park on residential streets to use the beach?
Yes, but there areas (Montalvo, Lobeiro and the south end of town) that restrict parking during specific times. Also many streets have restricted parking during specific days of the month for street sweeping. These streets are clearly marked with appropriate signs.

Metrolink Parking
Monday - Friday selected spaces near the Metolink station at North Beach provide low cost commuter parking for $1 per day. You must arrive between 4am and 9am and park in the designated spaces to receive this rate. After 9am, the cost for these select spaces reverts back to the $1 per hour rate .

Is there a grace period for expired meters?
No. When time is expired the violation flag goes up. All lots are patrolled at the hours specified above and there are no exceptions.

What if a meter is defective?
The City’s new electronic meters are seldom defective but a "Failed" flag will appear if the meter detects an error. You will not be charged for a defective meter.
