San Clemente Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan
|
The City of San Clemente has begun development of the City’s first Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan is being developed in conjunction with the development of the City’s New General Plan. The Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan will be a roadmap for developing pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and programs in the City, with an emphasis on promoting walking and bicycling as viable transportation options and fostering a practical, safe, and enjoyable environment to do so. Playa Del Norte
|
On July 19th, the City Council voted 3-2 to approve the Alternative Site Plan with the Beach Trail Café. On May 19th, the Planning Commission voted 6-1 to recommend approval of the Alternative Site Plan and Architectural Features with the Beach Trail Café to the City Council. Corps of Engineers Beach Erosion Study
|
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is nearing completion of a beach erosion study and proposed sand replenishment project. A Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Report is available for public review through September 23, 2010. The report is available at the San Clemente Public Library or through the City’s website via the link below. A public workshop was held on August 19. The presentation provided by the Corps of Engineers is also available via the following document link.

On May 18, 2010, the City Council unanimously approved the proposed Target retail store to be located at the North West corner of Avenida La Pata and Avenida Vista Hermosa. Target Corporation anticipates the store opening by winter 2011.

The City of San Clemente has prepared a Negative Declaration for the Draft Ordinance Prohibiting the Use of Expanded Polystyrene Disposable Food Service Ware, which is available for public review and comments through September 9, 2010. Also available are resources to assist food service businesses with finding alternative products and a list of vendors that supply these products.
