"AlertOC"
|
"AlertOC" is San Clemente's new emergency notification system is sponsored and led by the County of Orange. It provides an additional tool for the City to use to reach the community during emergencies. It allows City officials to record, send, and track voice and text messages through a single phone call. The City of San Clemente is proud to be one of the first cities in Orange County to implement the system.
By registering with AlertOC, City residents and businesses will also receive time-sensitive voice messages on cell phones and internet-connected phones. The messages can also be delivered via text message, in emails, and TTY/TDD receiving devices for the hearing impaired.

2009 Resolution: Save Water & Save Money!!
|
An irrigation spray head can emit 2 gallons a minute: if a lawn with 20 spray heads is overwatered by 3 minutes every day that equals a waste of 120 gallons every day or nearly $10 a month!
Use this irrigation scheduling guide as a template for efficient landscape watering.
Click the "Water Conservation" quick link on the left (scroll up) for more information about how you can save water and $$$$ in 2009 . . .

CHRISTMAS TREE & HOLIDAY GREENERY COLLECTION
|
CR&R will be collecting the holiday trees and greenery beginning the day after Christmas for a period of two weeks.
Remove all ornaments, lights, and stands.
Place your tree curbside on your collection day next to your automated containers.
Cut your tree in half if it is over 6’ tall.
There is no need to call CR&R, the tree collectors will be by your area December 26, 2008 through January 11, 2009. This year the Christmas and New Year holidays fall on a Thursday, CR&R will observe both holidays on Thursday so residential collection will be one day late both weeks.

Wall of Recognition: Nominations
|
The City of San Clemente is seeking an outstanding citizen to honor on its Wall of Recognition for 2009. Do you know someone who has made a difference in your community? Someone who consistently contributes to making our city a better place to live, work, and play. Someone who cares enough to give their time, energy and very best to make our lives a bit better.
If you do, you can nominate that person for the honor of having his or her name placed on the Wall of Recognition.
How can you do that? Take a look at the City’s guidelines and qualifications as outlined in the summary policy on the link provided.
The deadline for the Wall of Recognition applications is Friday, February 27, 2009 by 5:00 p.m.

Quiet Zone Application Update
|
The concern over train horn noise has escalated since the Final Rule by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) was implemented last summer (2006). This Final Rule has resulted in increased train horn noise, not only in San Clemente, but throughout the State. The City Council has made the application for quiet zones one of our top five priorities for the current fiscal year. We are extremely concerned with the increased train noise and are thoroughly committed to following through on a solution. Click Here for more information.
