Please note that applications are only accepted for currently open positions and a separate application must be filled out for each position. Distribution Systems Operator I/II- Full-time
Close Date: November 24, 2008

Compensation: Level I: $3,922 to $4,767 per month DOQ, Level II: $4,324 to $5,256 per month DOQ

Description: The City of San Clemente is seeking a qualified individual to perform skilled maintenance work in our Utilities Division. The position available may be filled at either the Operator I or Operator II level, depending upon qualifications. The Distribution Operator I/II will inspect, maintain and repair the City’s water distribution systems including groundwater wells, reservoirs, water lines, valves and hydrants, pump stations and pressure regulating stations. This position will read water consumption meters, inspect and repair meters, and safely operate various construction and maintenance equipment and vehicles.

Management Analyst II- Full-time

Compensation: $5,384 to $6,544 per month DOQ

Description: The City of San Clemente is seeking an experienced individual to perform a wide variety of responsible and complex administrative and analytical duties within the City’s Beaches, Parks & Recreation (BPR) Department. The position oversees department projects and works to direct and monitor their progress through completion. The position performs a wide range of duties including working independently, assuming full responsibility for assigned projects. The position provides information and assistance to the public regarding assigned programs and services and will receive direction from the BPR Director.

Recreation Leader II - Part-Time

Description: Recreation Leader II is an exciting position which promotes community involvement in recreational programs. The City is seeking an individual to work with its seasonal programs as well as weekend sports and after-school programs. Programs and events include flag football and basketball programs, scorekeeping, Christmas, Easter & Cinco de Mayo celebrations, theatre arts and dance, arts and crafts activities, Ocean Festival, organized games, babysitting services and others. The Recreation Leader II works under general supervision in performing a variety of tasks associated with these and other recreation and leisure service programs. The work schedule may be somewhat flexible, with hours ranging between five (5) to twenty (20) hours per week.

Pool Lifeguard/Instructor (WSI) / Pool Lifeguard - Part-Time

Compensation: Pool Lifeguard/Instructor: $11.15 to $13.55 per hour DOQ; Pool Lifeguard: $10.62 to $12.91 per hour DOQ

Description: The City of San Clemente is seeking individuals to work part-time at the Municipal Pool throughout the year. The Pool Lifeguard/Instructor (WSI Certified) plans and prepares lesson/season plans; instructs classes; observes and monitors pool patrons in the pool and in the surrounding area; performs swim rescues and emergency medical treatment; assists in the maintenance of facilities and equipment; and performs a variety of technical tasks. Positions may be filled at the Pool Lifeguard certification level for some assignments. Candidates must be able to commit to work a minimum number of hours: winter season – 15 hours/week; summer season – 20 hours/week.

EMail about Pool Lifeguard/Instructor (WSI) / Pool Lifeguard - Part-Time

Licensed Veterinary Technician - Part-Time, Private Contractor
Close Date: Open Until Filled

Description: The San Clemente - Dana Point Animal Shelter is looking for an independent contractor Animal Health Technician who possesses a current certificate as a Registered Veterinary Technician issued by the California Board of Examiners in Veterinary Medicine to provide medical care and treatment to shelter animals. The ideal technician will have experience in the humane handling of various breeds of dogs, cats, and other domestic animals. The technician will have experience in conducting animal health evaluations, as well as experience in administering prescription medicines and inoculations. The technician will have graduated from a two-year curriculum in animal health technology, or equivalent, in a college or other institution approved by the California Board of Examiners in Veterinary Medicine. As an independent contractor, the technician will be required to provide their own general liability insurance coverage in order to work on shelter property.

Schedule – Flexible not to exceed 100 hours per month generally 20-25 hours per week.

Compensation – Based on qualifications and experience.
