Civic Background: I was first elected to San Clemente City Council in 2014 after serving on the City of San Clemente Planning Commission. This year, I am honored be serving as your mayor. I am very proud of our jewel on the California coast and the care we have for our community and each other. I will continue to devote my time and talents to bolster our city, improve it, fight for it, and stand by the residents and our business owners.
I sought a position on council to uphold San Clemente's General Plan and help lead the city through its inevitable transitions. I knew this would be an important time to be on the council and it has proven to be exactly that. The city has been challenged by outside interests who recognize this is a wonderful place and want to build projects. I want to ensure that the desires of our residents, as expressed in the General Plan, are followed and the standards of this city are upheld so we continue to enjoy what makes our city special.
I serve as the City’s representative on the San Joaquin Hills and Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agencies; the South Orange County Association of Mayors; and, the Emergency Operational Area Council. I also serve as the Legislative Delegate Program Representative to Senate District 38 and Assembly District 73.
Personal Note: I am a Certified Shorthand Reporter, now retired. While working in court and in depositions, I did double duty as a teacher of court reporting, teaching all subjects. Additionally, I was a partner in a private court reporting agency.
I have been happily married to my husband, Greg, for 28 years and we reside in southwest San Clemente.
